Aussie periodwear brand Modibodi has teamed up with Girl Guides Australia to tackle period anxiety many girls experience on sleepovers and at camp.

Their collaborative initiative aims to empower girls to confidently participate in activities like sleepovers and camps without the fear of menstruation holding them back.

The message is clear: ‘Periods Don’t Pause Adventures.’

According to a recent survey conducted by Girl Guides Australia, 68 per cent of girls admitted that it’s one of their biggest worries.

The most significant concern, shared by 84 per cent of respondents, is the fear of leaking through clothes.

Furthermore, 49 per cent expressed anxiety about not having the right period products available when needed.

Sleepovers and camps are essential for girls to develop life skills, independence, and resilience.

These experiences allow them to build confidence, learn to adapt to new situations, and grow emotionally, socially, and creatively.

In fact, records show that Girl Guides who participate in camping and independent challenges experience an 11 per cent increase in feelings of well-being.

And more than an 18 per cent increase in life skills and resilience, as well as a 45 per cent boost in their ability to adapt to unexpected events.

If a girl feels excluded from these activities due to her period, it can significantly impact her mindset, self-confidence, and overall development.

By partnering with Girl Guides Australia, Modibodi aims to create an environment where girls are no longer held back by period anxiety.

This shared advocacy ensures that no girl misses out on the opportunity to take part in camp or sleepover activities due to menstruation.

The collaboration includes a variety of innovative programs and resources, outlined below:

• Modibodi Teen Sleepover Hub: An educational and supportive platform designed to help girls prepare for sleepovers and camps with confidence, providing them with all the information they need about period care.
• New GGA Program Resources: These resources are aimed at building the confidence and knowledge of volunteer leaders, parents, and guardians across Australia, ensuring that open and supportive period conversations are happening everywhere.
• Period Point Wash Stations: These new stations at Girl Guide camps will allow girls to wash and dry their reusable period underwear, which is becoming increasingly popular among young menstruators.
• Modibodi – Period Prepared Badge: A unique badge that girls can earn by completing positive period challenges at the national Girl Guide Jamboree in September 2025.
• Modibodi Donation Program: A commitment to donate a portion of proceeds from the online purchase of any Modibodi product by GGA members and supporters, further supporting Girl Guides Australia’s mission.

Through these initiatives, Modibodi and Girl Guides Australia are helping to create a culture where menstruation is seen as a normal part of life.
