As 2019 gets underway, more cruise lines are coming out with a new wave of deals. This Wave Season is offering up a plethora of deals on all kinds of itineraries.

Viking’s River Cruises

Carnival Cruise Line

Carnival Cruise Line is offering up its limited-time “Let Fun Live: sales event, which will feature an array of different offers. The promotion is valid on more than 3,000 sailings from now until 2021 to the Caribbean, Bahamas, Mexico and other destinations.

Carnival Cruise Line has announced the launch of Carnival Panorama. The company says it is the first new Carnival ship on the West Coast in 20 years, setting sail in December 2019. The company has also announced the transformation of Carnival Triumph and Carnival Victory into Carnival Sunrise and Carnival Radiance, respectively; the most diverse European schedule aboard Carnival Legend with visits to 34 ports in 14 countries; Carnival’s first-ever series of voyages from San Francisco on Carnival Miracle; and of course, the unveiling of Mardi Gras, featuring BOLT: Ultimate Sea Coaster, the first roller coaster at sea.

Scenic 

Scenic has announced several specials available on the Scenic Eclipse during the Wave Season. Guests booking any April 2019 through August 2020 departure by February 28, 2019, will get complimentary private roundtrip transfers between their home and the airport; free deposit protection coverage; and up to $500 per person on board credit. Guests booking any 2019 North American voyage will also get a free two-night hotel stay in New York City. As sales have been brisk for the 228-guest luxury yacht, the company advises that travel agents and consumers book early.

Fares for The Scenic Eclipse are all-inclusive, covering every aspect of the cruise, excepting massages and hair dresser services, and use of the ship’s helicopters and submarine. All meals in any of the nine restaurants or 24-hour room service, all excursions, all drinks at any of the eight lounges and bars and in room mini-bar, butler service, gratuities, lectures from onboard experts, airport transfers, etc. – all included.

Guests looking to extend their vacations can choose from a variety of Scenic’s new Escorted Land Journeys that add multi-day land tours to cruises. These land adventures, with no more than 20 guests, are fully escorted by experienced tour directors and include hotel accommodations, some meals, all tours with local guides, tipping and more.

The ship has 114 all-verandah suites range in size from 345 ft² to 2,659 ft²; 10 dining options – from Asian Fusion to French fine dining to a chef’s table to a poolside buffet; a 5,920 ft² spa with a well-equipped gym and separate yoga and Pilates studio; two six-guest helicopters and one six-guest submarine capable of depths of nearly 1,000 feet; a 240-seat theater for entertainment and lectures; indoor and outdoor plunge pools; butler service for all guests; and an almost 1:1 guest-to-staff ratio.

And then there is the technology: zero-speed stabilizer fins, 50 percent larger than standard to provide greater stability; the highest passenger ship ice class rating – Polar Class 6 (Ice Class 1A Super); redundancies in propulsion, navigation, safety systems and food refrigeration; bridge systems; and a GPS dynamic positioning system allowing for stationary positioning without an anchor, reducing any environmental affect in sensitive regions.

PONANT

PONANT is offering additional savings on select sailings to Central and South America in 2019 and to the Mediterranean in 2020. With additional incentives for early bookings, travelers can save up to 30 percent on fares throughout the regions.

Beginning with the 2019 sailings, PONANT will have four ships in Central and South American waters, calling at ports in Ecuador, Chile, Mexico, Costa Rica, Argentina, Peru, Guatemala and more. Guests will discover pre-Columbian monuments and colonial cities. Many, such as ancient Palenque and Uxmal in Mexico, and Chile's historic port of Valparaiso, are UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

Over 30 itineraries are still showing availability during 2019, many of which offering additional savings through a PONANT bonus offer. The 14-day Chilean Fjords & Patagonia sailing on Le Boreal, for example, sails from Ushuaia in Argentina to Valparaiso in Chile from March 4, 2019 to March 17, 2019 and is available with a savings of up to 25 percent.
